I have never heard about the title, even though I often read the books which Shakespeare wrote. I have an image that the books of Shakespeare are all sad story, but this movie is so interesting.
Many characters enter this movie. It is difficult for me to understand quickly. There are two couples. One of them is Benedick and Beatrice. They started to fight as soon as they met for the first time. On the other hand, another couple, Claudio and Hero, are a quiet couple. Claudio is the follower of Don Pedro, and fell in love with Hero at first sight.
I like Benedick and Beatrice’s couple better. They are weak in the other sex each other. They are both contrary, and can’t be obedient. So Don Pedro tries to get them together. I think he is just Cupid. Beatrice always says all manner of abuse to Benedick, but the words contain some wit. This suggests her intelligence, I think.
I think Benedick and Beatrice married by their intention. So I felt their word and deed are free but bcause Claudio and Hero’s couple’s way to engagement is very stiff. On top of that, Claudio humiliated Hero! I can’t believe that. Claudio is a bad man, and I don’t like him. When Beatrice asked Benedick to kill Claudio, I agreed with her opinion very much. I hope for Hero’s happiness.
“In brief, since I do purpose to marry, I will think nothing to any purpose that the world can say against it; and therefore never flout at me for what I have said against it; for man is a giddy thing, and this is my conclusion.” This is what Benedick says, and I like this the best in this movie.
