Essay 1-03a: Thematic movie reviews of Mrs. Doubtfire

First, I watched "Mrs. Doubtfire" in our writing class. It is a interesting movie for me. If I was Daniel, I couldn't do such a brave deeds, even if I love my children very much. One of my interests is the importance loving family. the other is Daniel's gap of father between housekeeper.

I choose two themes  from class outlines (1A). The gap in responsibility for housekeeping, and another is the bonds among family members. First, the gap in responsibility, it's about Daniel's character. He loves his three children, Lydia, Chris, and Notary very very much. However, when he disguised a British old woman, he disciplined them strictly. I think both are his true love. These are very beautiful and kindly.

And about the bonds among family members, I think it is very strong. But only Miranda, who is Daniel's ex wife was different little. Because she decided to divorce with him, and tried to isolate her children from Daniel. I think it was very painful thing for indulgent father to living by himself apart from his family.

Also, children miss their father, too. It looked Daniel and three children were harmonious family. They allow meeting Daniel only once a week. Daniel is important existence for them even he was not good human. I think that they love their father than their mother, of course they love Miranda very much.

The beginning of story, Daniel had a trouble with his workers and resigned his job.  At the Chris's birthday party, Daniel happened a disturbance even polices invited. In this way, he has a mind like a boy even now. Until then, when he divorced with Miranda, Daniel was just permissively for his children. After that, he changed thanks for his old brother Frank's technic and his miracle voice. I think it was a chance to grow up from a worthless man to good father. Divorcing was too shock for him and his three chidlen. But, in a sense, it may be good thing.

I think this is a very happy and interesting story. Daniel is a good father. This movie describes ordinary family's lives, but just the thing is wonderful I think. This movie teaches us about the importance of loving family and everyone. It became one of my favorite movies. Do have a look at "Mrs. Doubtfire"! The highlight of a film is, it’s not only comedy but also beautiful story of love.
